In August of 2020, the artist publically known as Marcy King uploaded a 3 track EP to Soundcloud under the pseudonym "Field Talk". Over the next few years, they countinued to upload music on the account varrying from soothing beats to ambient lo-fi.

The music always served as an outlet for Marcy to explore music outside of their traditional indie-folk roots. However, the account never gained more than 9 followers and never caught anyones attention. Now, in 2023, they bring us a nine track LP to be released on all streaming platforms as a way to share more of themselves with the world.

Open Transmissions is a collection of deep ambient pieces inspired by the likes of The Caretaker and William Basinski. With tracks that drone on for up to 9 minutes, it serves as an expression of its creators deepest emotions and a window of nostalgia. Sometimes its darkness and ambivalence induces a thick and eerie atmosphere of sound.

It is complex, thought-provoking music that finally has its chance to be shared more widely with the world, and it most definitely isn't the last we'll hear of Field Talk...
